As the Inner Wheel year 2003 – 2004 comes to a close, a reflection over the years activities brings light to the projects undertaken which will have benefited the less privileged in the community.

The year had a good start with RM74, 000 being raised at the installation, but throughout the year additional donations from individual members, and other sources, raised the amount donated from the Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur to RM95, 700.

And as the projects raised awareness of deserving recipients, so further donations were made by individuals or groups to the projects, amounting to an amazing total of RM241, 769.

The ideals of Inner Wheel had been the focus of the year; to promote friendship, international understanding, and personal service, all of which had been met in many different ways. But as President Foong Pack stated during the recent handover installation – “We can always do more, but I hope the club members have enjoyed the activities of the year and feel fulfilled in the outcomes we have achieved. I am therefore indebted to the members for having put their trust in me to bring the club through this Inner Wheel Year, 2003 - 2004.”

President Foong continued – “The years theme, ‘Make the Friendship Positive’ has indeed been the corner stone of everything we have done together, and our projects have been truly exciting because of the new friendships we have made, existing friendships which have strengthened, but most of all because of the momentum of support which has developed over the year which has stemmed from these friendships.”

Some of the projects are now captured in this article, with pictures, which highlight the achievements of the Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur during the year 2003 – 2004.
