Pusat Penjagaan Kanak Kanak Cacat Taman Megah ("PPKKCTM") is a home for disabled and under-privileged children.
It was founded by the late Mr. Manikumar, who was himself physically handicapped. His vision was to provide an environment for the betterment of disabled children, to improve their lives and for them to be given equal status in society. He dedicated his whole life to "Make Dreams Real" for these special children. Sadly, Mr Manikumar passed away in a motor vehicle accident in 2006. In recognition of his services, he was posthumously awarded the NST-PWC (Price Waterhouse Coopers) Malaysian Lifetime Humanitarian Award by our Prime Minister in December 2006.
Today, we have 128 children of all races with various disabilities such as Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, global development delay, muscular dystrophy, speech, audio and vision impaired, dwarfism, apeth syndrome, Noonan's syndrome, slow learners, hyper active, physically challenged, intellectually disabled, and also under-privileged children from broken homes. They range from toddlers to a few as old as 53 years of age. About a 100 of them are disabled while the rest are children who came from broken, abusive or single parent home backgrounds.
All children of school age who can qualify are sent to regular schools or special schools for the disabled to learn various skills such as self-sufficiency and vocational training. Many others require constant daily special care due to their physical and/or mental challenges. Please help us raise funds through this Charity Dinner-Show organized by Rotary Club of Kuala Lumpur DiRaja, Inner Wheel of Kuala Lumpur, Your Friendly Entertainer Sdn Bhd and Toniq Creative Management Sdn Bhd. Thank you from all our children.
"My Dream is to keep drawing with my colour pencils"

Children need to play and have fun every day. Our children at PPKKCTM have experienced sad histories of pain, suffering and sometimes abandonment... "My Dream is to keep drawing with my colour pencils". Little Subashini is happiest when she is lost her own special world of painting pictures. Please help us help little Subashini find moments of joy in her challenging life ahead.
"My Dream is to sit up when I eat"

At PPKKCTM, for some of our special children, simple everyday tasks become painful challenges. Difficult medical conditions make each day a repetitive tedium for suffering... "My Dream is to sit up when I eat". I cannot get up - when will this routine stop? Why is eating so boring? Here, special child, Nurlisa, receives her daily sustenance of milk through a tube directly to her stomach. She is being tended to lovingly by kind care-giver Cik Siti. Please help us help sweet Nurlisa continue to get assistance with her feeding challenges.
"My Dream is to get around quickly"

Children are fundamentally kind by nature. Every day at PPKKCTM, we see children helping each other with simple acts of kindness... "My Dream is to get around quickly". Boy! This wheelchair is heavy! I wish I could move it easily. Here, one of our children Saravana is assisting his friend, special child Ng Kok Hwee, to move around on the wheelchair. Please help us help Saravana and Kok Hwee improve their lives.
"My Dream is to eat with my mouth"

In several cases, some dreams are simple actions we all take for granted. We assume eating is often a joy. At PPKKCTM, some of our special children are fed through the nose due to their condition... "My Dream is to eat with my mouth". I cannot breathe - why is eating so painful? Is food delicious? I do not know because I have never tasted food in my mouth. Here, special child - Chong Kah Wei is being fed through the nose. Please help us help Kah Wei get medical treatment to better his condition over time.
"My Dream is to be independent"

Sometimes dreams can be realised with love, patience and guidance. Our hope in PPKKCTM is to help special children learn to be more self-sufficient and learn to help others. A persons sense of self-esteem grows by helping one's self and others... "My Dream is to be independent". I can feed myself and now I can feed my friend. Maybe I can help him learn to feed himself? Here, special child - Wong Wai Kit, is being fed by his fellow Home friend Chan Ching Nam. Please help us help Wai Kit realize his dream to learn how to eat on his own.
